The Royal Society of Medicine in London held a conference on “Chronic Fatigue Syndrome” in April 2008. Due to the strong presence of speakers from the field of mental health, some consternation was caused amongst people diagnosed with M.E.
M.E. has been categorised as a NEUROLOGICAL disorder by the World
Health Organisation since 1969.
The two open letters presented to the RSM can be found at:

Are you a member of …
Are you a member of Scientology or a “Graduate” from the “common purpose” movement?
This disease ACTUALLY EXISTS and doctors on the brink of a cure, to release more than 250,000 UK subjects back to their normal lives, was halted in favour of experimental non-medical “bio-psycho-social” tools invented by a very troubled American insurance company awaiting numerous RICO ACT trials back in the US.
ITS NOT ALL IN THE MIND! Real cures for very REAL neurological conditions is what is required, NOW!

In this age of …
In this age of cognitive neuroscience advancves, the phrase “it is all in your head” my not be a negative thing after all.
CFS/ME may well be a primary disturbance at brain (which in your head!) level which amplifies sense of effort/fatigue and other symptoms. We need to understand these brain processeses if we want to treat this disabling condition

Have you guys ever …
Have you guys ever wondered that probably the doctors and psychiatrists you visit have absolutely zilch to do with your illness and they are spinning you around their little fingers running around in circles doing all kinds of unnecessary medical tests which prove nothing.
The psycho-medico-pharma has hijacked this illness..
The government is advised by them and believes these idiots.
Just make sure they do not give you any anti-psychotics permanenetly damaging your brains.

Ever heard of a man …
Ever heard of a man called Professor Stephen Hawking? Has he been shot in the head by your magic bullet? Nothing wrong with his intellect. Im sorry to learn you are a recovering substance abuser. I am also sorry to learn you are still a bully. Why do the bullies always align themselves with the Wesselyians? Jimmy boy, the ME personal pronoun insult for M.E. victims is very old hat. Elaine Showalter was the first to make it. Learn to read Jimmy boy. ShowalterdontlikeME. LMAO at you Jimmy baby.

Catastrophic thinking!

Attacks the brain …
Attacks the brain but not the intellect? That would would be like a magic bullet for sure. I doubt there is any such alliance called the “Wesselyians”. I am sure all “ME” patients (err..especially those not actually diagnosed with ME but adopt it in preference to CFS) wish to recover. So too do alcoholics other addicts, the obese, problem gamblers, etc. You got a long way to go baby. But good luck it can be done. Been there done that!

The above statement …
The above statement is completely ambiguous in this context. As you are an Australian and interested in stuff about psychology, I must warn you that Picnic at Hanging Rock was a work of fiction. There never was an Appleyard College, and no schoolgirls disappeared on St. Valentines Day 1900. There never has been such a case of Mass Hysteria in any Australian boys or girls school. If you dont believe me ask Doctor Carl.

Notthelastword. I …
Notthelastword. I believe Myalgic Encephalomyelitis attacks the brain, not the intellect. ME victims are perfectly capable of making their own judgements. Neither I, nor you speak for them. If you are peeved over me taking the micky out of The Wesselyians, well hard luck. The Wesseylians have said some truly contemptible things over the last two decades about ME patients. Besides, your concern is unnecessary, The Wesselyians are pachyderms. BTW Jimmy boy, all ME patients wish to recover.

Why is ME getting …
Why is ME getting mixed up with CFS? (Rhetorical question)
July 28th, 2009 at 8:46 am
Can I ask? How …
Can I ask? How successful have your remedial strategies been and therefore how much attention CFS sufferers wishing to recover should pay you?

P.S. I might have …
P.S. I might have inadvertently started a rumour that Simon Wessely is a great fan of Norman Wisdom. It was another Manx phenomena I should have ociated him with. My brain fog runs riot at times. Again my apologies to Norman Wisdom.

I fear my real …
I fear my real Dysbelief, is my belief that 50 per cent of The Wesselyians dont actually believe a word of the nonsense they spout. Try as I may, I cant get myself to accept that the truth might be closer to 100 percent. I wonder if CBT would be a help. As to what proportion are Platonic Noble Liars, what proportion are liars, and what proportion are just plain idiots? Impossible to ess without access to The Wesselyians Generalised Algorithms, and I cant find them in any maths text book.

I’m not so sure …
I’m not so sure about Alzheimer’s probably not but I don’t know as we get old and our immune system weakens germs try to get in. Mold is ubiquitous you can’t hardly get away from it. It’s a pathogen of opportunity for immunologically compromised. That’s why aids patients, chemo/radiation patients, transplant patients are susceptible to aspergillosis, their immune systems are compromised I believe ours are too just behaving differently to mold, I wish I could say how other than highly sensitive.
July 28th, 2009 at 8:46 am
So you have no …
So you have no Brain fog, difficulty with problem solving skills, difficulty focusing on tasks and following though, mussel spasms, overwhelming fatigue. Roller coaster up and down symptoms. Never feel better when you leave your home for a week or so? Food reactivity, bloating, unrelenting diarrhea, constant flue like symptoms, burning sensation in the nasal cavities? Swelling of glands in neck. Chemical sensitivity? I have a hard time believing there is more than one invisible disease. Maybe.
July 28th, 2009 at 8:46 am
multiple scerosis …
multiple scerosis isnt down to mold reactivity ,alzheimer’s disease isnt down to mold reactivity, poliomyelitis isnt down to mold reactivity its jus as rediculous as sayin tht.

Clean or mold free? …
Clean or mold free? I rented a room in a brand new house and still got sick You can find out by going to walmart buying a $37 dome shaped 9×7 tent,(no stakes needed, nylon very low on VOC’S) setting it up in your bedroom and putting a medium to large size hepa filter in it. Don’t come out without a respirator designed for asbestos and mold abatement EVER,For about a week anyways. I know I am not the only one with this condition. PLEASE TRY IT! Than come back and tell me I am wrong.

The lightning …
The lightning process is for the mentally ill.
If you’re implying people with ME are mentally ill, you should arange a meeting with myself - then repeat the statement.
Good luck.

just go and do the ‘lightning process’ and get better.

The symptoms are so …
The symptoms are so similar weather you call it ME, or CFS, or MCS, or SBS or fybromyaligia. I don’t understand why all the controversy. To me they are all the same thing. Way to go Brits. I’ve suffered for 12 years now and sadly most are not very receptive of my theory that all these illnesses are caused by mold reactivity. For some reason we have lost our immunity to it and if anyone who suffers doubts just try camping out in the woods for a couple of weeks than come back to your moldy abode.
